Employers rank UOW Top 100 in the world

For the third year in a row, UOW has been ranked in the top 100 universities in the world by the Times Higher Education Employer Review (2009). This review rates employers' opinions of UOW graduates.

The University's success is due to its outstanding Careers Service and the many programs designed to give students work experience, including:

- industrial, clinical or professional experience included in Bachelor degrees in engineering, education, law, nursing, nutrition and other health programs

- internships in the Bachelor of Commerce and the Bachelor of Arts

- professional practice subjects and work experience built into the Master of Professional Engineering and Master of Commerce-Master of Professional Accounting

- Certificate in Global Workplace Practice, a free program for international students to maximise their potential to gain employment in Australia after graduation; includes modules on job search skills, workplace culture and language, and a work placement with a company in Wollongong or Sydney.

LOCATION

Wollongong is located just over an hour by train or road from central Sydney . The University has 22,000 students, including 4,000 international students studying at the main Wollongong campus and the Sydney Business School in downtown Sydney .

UOW offers maximum choice of location – you can live in Wollongong , Sydney , or mid-way between both cities, giving you access to the part-time job markets and lifestyles available in Wollongong and in Sydney . You can also complete part of your program at the UOW in Dubai , which offers English language and programs in Business and IT.

WOLLONGONG COLLEGE AUSTRALIA (WCA)

Located on the main Wollongong campus, WUC offers a supportive environment offering:

  • English language courses – from 5 to 50 weeks duration, for direct entry to UOW degrees
  • Foundation Studies – preparing for entry to first year of all UOW Bachelor degrees
  • Diplomas – leading to second year of UOW degrees in commerce, computing and IT

ACCOMMODATION

Wollongong offers the advantage of abundant accommodation close to the University at a much more affordable price than Sydney and other large cities. A variety of accommodation options are available:
